Cream Soda, Please? is a photo-based triptych which explores the theme of unfulfilled dreams and desires, drawing inspiration from the transformative journey from a maiko to a geisha. Employing vibrant colours and symbolic imagery, the series’ narrative integrates Japanese cultural motifs with Western and Christian references. Cream Soda, Please? aims to express the universal experience of encountering setbacks, yearning for personal growth, and grappling with unmet goals, all while emphasising the perpetual pursuit of self-improvement.
