Teddy, 2019
Digital drawing, 50 x 50 cm
Teddy challenges the viewer to re-examine the value we assign to sentimental objects. As children, love is often communicated to us through being gifted material goods like a stuffed teddy bear. These gifts quickly become a physical representation of our desires and aspirations. By shifting the context of the teddy bear into fine art, it takes on a drastically different meaning as a commentary on social, cultural and political constructs.
